My PC is also less than a year old, and shouldn't be experiencing any hardware problems if that happens to be an issue people have ran into. Luckily, the fix is simple for me, but it's just annoying to have to restart my PC every time this happens. If that’s happening because of the Discord server issue, it will be solved by the authority within a short period. It can happen for various reasons, whether for your lack of awareness or server and network problems. If anyone else has experienced this issue, please share what happened to you and any potential solutions you found. Discord getting stuck while checking for updates is a universal issue faced by many Discord users. I've tried running Steam in admin mode, adding steam's IP's to my system's host file and flushing DNS, and I've tried disabling Windows Defender and still no luck. The only solution that has worked for me is to just restart my PC and everything will launch fine. Origin will do the same thing, but other applications such as Discord and Google Chrome work fine. I'm not really sure why this is, but it seems like some sort of connection issue to me. I've been having this reoccurring issue with Steam, that sometimes after either starting my computer, or if my PC has been on for a while, when I go to open steam it gets stuck checking for updates.
